School Librarian

The Trustees are looking to appoint a new Librarian to join our hardworking, committed and enthusiastic and committed team.

Oaklands is a Catholic Academy taking in boys and girls from 11-18. There are over 1,300 students on roll, including a Sixth Form College of 220 students. It is a well-established, oversubscribed comprehensive school, which is well supported by parents and highly respected in the community.

We are seeking to appoint a candidate who will promote and develop the Library resource in order to provide an efficient service to students and staff. The successful candidate will work closely with the English Department to implement the school's literacy policy and support students who need the most support with reading.

You will be expected to deliver Library sessions to Key Stage 3 students and support will be provided for this.

Our Library places reading at the heart of the school and supports learning across the curriculum.

If you are a Catholic you will understand the distinctiveness of Catholic schools such as Oaklands and this will be attractive to you. You do not have to be a Catholic to work at Oaklands; the Governors welcome applications from candidates of differing faith backgrounds or none, who can be supportive of the school ethos.
