Full Job Description

We are looking to appoint a dynamic, creative and people-centred person to lead the management of SEND provision across our school.

Sprowston Community Academy is committed to being an inclusive learning environment, and as such we have a significant number of students with SEND needs. We are in the process of restructuring the leadership and management of our SEND provision so that we support SENDV students and their families to enjoy the best possible experiences both in and outside of the classroom.

Working closely with our Assistant Headteacher for SENDV and a newly appointed EHCP Manager and Interventions Manager, you will lead an experienced team of TA's and work closely with students and their families to ensure that their SEND needs are understood, and coherent plans are in place to meet these needs.

The successful candidate will have significant experience of working within the SEND sector and will have a proven track record of leading and developing teams and working with students, families and multi-agencies to support strong outcomes for young people. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator and will have a thorough knowledge of SEND and the Code of Practice. They will be resilient, resourceful and rigorous and determined to work collaboratively and respectfully with others.

This post is likely to come under the requirements of the Childcare (Disqualification) 2009 Regulations, therefore successful candidates will be required to complete a declaration form to establish whether disqualified under these regulations. Applicants must be prepared to undertake an Enhanced DBS check and attend a Warner Interview. Right to Work in the UK will need to be established. If applicable the following will be required: a certificate of good conduct, for teaching posts, a letter of professional standing from the professional regulating authority in the country in which the applicant has worked.We are an equal opportunities employer.
