Full Job Description

We are seeking to enhance the corporate team through the recruitment of a Senior Associate with general corporate law and transactional experience.

This is a genuine opportunity to become part of a successful corporate team, to undertake big ticket transactional work in an expanding team that will support you through your career development.

You'll be part of expanding our national corporate offering into the Welsh market, and so will be enthusiastic about business development. Cardiff is our newest office, opening in July 2023, and is already growing rapidly. We have plans to be a full service offering in Cardiff to reflect the rest of our office network and this opportunity reflects an exciting opportunity to join near the start of our journey.

The ideal candidate should have experience of acting on corporate finance transactions including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and private equity transactions, in addition to drafting standard corporate documents such as articles of association, shareholders agreements and SPAs.

We believe that a regular level of in-person contact is an important way to build connections with your colleagues, enabling all of us to benefit from the vibrant office culture Browne Jacobson has to offer.

Our expectation is that, on average, you'll work from home for no more than three days per week, with the remainder of your time either spent in the office or working from other locations as work demands dictate, e.g. courts, client offices, conferences etc. Equally, there will be individual circumstances in which a different pattern of work is needed, for example as an agreed reasonable adjustment for colleagues with a disability or long-term medical condition.

Our 'One Firm' approach:

  • fits with our values and personality;

  • will enhance our performance through greater flexibility;

  • advances our ambitions as an inclusive employer - helping you better balance work and family/life commitments;

  • offers opportunities to reduce our carbon footprint (travel, office services etc.), a key ambition underpinning our corporate sustainability plan.

  • We're a Disability Confident Employer and will offer an interview to disabled applicants who best meet the minimum/essential criteria for the role. Tick on the application form if you'd like to apply through the Disability Confident Interview Scheme.

    If you are looking for a new challenge working with a leading law firm, apply today!

    If external support is required on a vacancy, a member of the Browne Jacobson recruitment team will release the role to one of our agency partners. We ask that recruitment agencies do not send CVs unless instructed on the role. Please note that any speculative CVs submitted via agencies without invitation will not be considered as represented by the agency.
