Full Job Description

This is a brand-new role to support our Trust expansion into. In September 2024 Coventry Extended Learning Centre will become part of our Trust and our central IT support service will expand geographically to include two sites based in the northeast of Coventry, in addition to the cover provided to our existing three sites in Solihull.

The post holder will need to be able to work predominantly at the Coventry sites but will involve occasional travel to our other sites and the central office located at Solihull Academy.

This role requires a self-starter who has excellent motivation and the right attitude to succeed with minimal supervision.

A driving licence and own transport is essential for this role.

Overall Responsibility:

  • To provide a range of technical and general IT support to staff and students within the school

  • To assist in the implementation of SAPMAT IT strategy by undertaking the following duties with the direction and guidance of the IT Manager or Network Manager

    Education in Information Technology or related field

  • Proven experience as an IT Technician or relevant position

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Cloud Technologies and network support (DNS, DHCP, VLANs etc)

  • Excellent understanding of a range of operation systems and Office applications

  • Excellent technical support skills with a focus on customer service

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively


  • Desirable Skills:
  • Experience with managing Microsoft Intune / 365 tenancy

  • Familiarity with enterprise WIFI solutions
