In coordination with Heads of Scientific Departments, developing the service strategy of laboratory equipment that provides the required level of service in the most cost-effective manner. Maintaining an asset management plan.

Forecasting price trends and levels of demand for equipment servicing and assist the Finance department with financial management activities including annual budget development.

Negotiating and agreeing service contracts and building and maintaining good relationships with new and existing service engineers.

Managing day to day equipment and plant issues and ensuring reported equipment breakdowns are logged. Arranging, planning and scheduling engineers' visits on time.

Developing and implementing the Abzena's health and safety strategy including audit and legislative compliance.

Help ensure site-wide adherence to ISO accreditations, developing and driving a quality, safety and sustainable focused culture.

Capturing effective key performance indicators to draw attention to significant trends and occurrences. Investigate opportunities for continuous improvement and implement where required.

Respond appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise.

A scientific background.

Understanding of general laboratory equipment and facilities maintenance requirements.

Experience with/comfort in using electronic/computer-based systems for generation of purchase orders, planning of servicing schedules and maintenance of asset registers, including knowledge of ERP system usage and asset maintenance software.

Ability to write in English clearly, succinctly and in a manner that appeals to a wide audience.

Strong verbal communication: Clarity of speech, remaining calm and focused, being polite and following the basic rules of etiquette.

Self-motivated to find practical solutions to varied issues and challenges.
