Full Job Description

The College is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Science Technician to join our friendly, supportive, and outward looking team of teachers and technicians. The post holder will lead a small team of technicians and have oversight of the ways in which lesson resources are prepared and delivered at key stage 3, 4 and 5. They will also play a key role in the preparation of new resources and practical tasks as we move towards opening our sixth form in September 2024.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and providing lesson resources and ensuring that systems for delivering these are effective and efficient

  • Supporting other technicians in developing their skills

  • Preparing new lesson resources for Key Stage 5 teaching

  • Taking a lead role in ensuring high standards of health and safety

  • Overseeing the maintenance of science equipment

    The successful candidate will be organised and self-motivated, have a high level of accuracy and proficient IT skills. They will enjoy working in a large team and be able to form strong relationships with team members and students. They will be supported in developing their skills and have significant scope to develop their role as the sixth form develops.
