Full Job Description

Our systems provide for every aspect of ophthalmic assessment and treatment. They provide paperless working to allow instant access to patient information from any location, allowing clinicians to deliver better, safer care and rapid audits of clinical outcomes.,

  • Gaining a deep knowledge of our software products and aspects of ophthalmology.

  • Writing and executing detailed test cases for new reports and report enhancements based on specification documents, to ensure that the product meets requirements.

  • Querying and validating the data warehouse with SQL.

  • Contributing to feature refinement meetings to finalise the feature design and behaviour.

  • Working with other team members to find solutions to defects or identify product improvements.

  • Executing regression test cases to ensure overall stability of our product prior to release.

  • Maintaining and developing automated testing tools.


  • Other responsibilities include:
  • Testing of internal reporting tools.

  • Testing of translation processes, in particular to French and German languages.

  • Investigating live issues reported by customers.

  • Testing custom data extracts requested by customers.

  • Testing of large-scale data extractions for research studies.

    We are looking for a Software Tester with an interest in data to execute and enhance the quality assurance processes of Medisoft's reporting module.


  • The successful candidate will be a keen learner, with a high level of numerical literacy and an eye for detail. Good technical ability and a proven aptitude for problem-solving are essential.,
  • Experience of manual software testing.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Strong initiative and proven ability to apply judgement.


  • Desirable additional criteria:
  • Experience querying data with SQL.

  • Experience of using automated testing tools (e.g. Selenium, Postman).

  • Experience of working or a degree in a healthcare or science background.

  • Expereince of using the French or German language.


  • The types of technologies you will be using are:
  • SQL Server Management Studio

  • Azure DevOps Server

  • Microsoft Excel, Word

  • Microsoft Business Intelligence Stack, including SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services)

  • Selenium

  • Postman

    The role is based at our offices in Leeds, but occasional travel may be required.
