Peppervine is a Mediterranean inspired business running within the very popular pub The Sycamores in Burbage, Leicestershire. Serving our seasonal tapas menu Wednesday - Saturday, and our traditional Sunday roasts throughout winter, and our recently launched stonebaked pizza menu on Sundays throughout the summer.
We are a small and very passionate independent business who see our team as family! Promoting a 4 DAY WORKING WEEK, with guaranteed 2 consecutive days off. 45 hours a week max.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a talented Sous Chef to join our kitchen team, or a chef ready to take on their next challenge as Sous chef! The ideal candidate will assist the Head Chef in overseeing the kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food production, and maintaining a smooth workflow.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and recipe creation
- Supervise kitchen staff in food production and presentation
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
- Manage inventory and control food costs
- Train and mentor kitchen staff in culinary skills
- Collaborate with the culinary team to deliver exceptional dining experiences
Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and procedures
- Leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a team
- Proficiency in all aspects of food preparation and kitchen operations
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
