Full Job Description

The Stepdown recovery officer will identify early identification of factors that would potentially delay timely discharge and impact on provision of appropriate aftercare. They will liaise with housing and local authorities around discharge and facilitation of housing assessments. They will be responsible for coordinating the support for the patient they are allocated to in stepdown which can include ADL support, escort to appointments and arranging recovery activities.

The Recovery Officer will take a role in embedding recovery values within the stepdown service and MDT Team, alongside other Trust recovery champions, and act as an ambassador of recovery for the Trust with external agencies and partner organisations.

  • I am proficient, with the ability to problem solve and create innovative solutions to help empower service users

  • Able to work independently

  • Good level of written literacy and numeracy

  • Able to prioritise workload and deliver service to a high standard


  • I may also have:
  • Have a good knowledge of local services surrounding the Boroughs of, Brent, Harrow, Hillingdon and Westminster

  • Have good awareness to respond in a professional manner to distress, disturbance and unpredictability

  • I have experience of using strength based approaches to support individual to maximise independence and achieve their goals
