Full Job Description

  • Interrogating, collating, researching and evaluating information from all force systems

  • Managing multiple requests at any one time whilst striving to meet the timescales for disclosure of Information rights

  • Applying relevant exemptions for non disclosure of information and undertaking risk of harm and public interest tests where applicable (FOI)

  • Providing support to the Senior Disclosure Officer in response to internal reviews for both FOI and IR requests in line with relevant legislation, guidelines and timescales as required

  • Liaising with stakeholders both internal and external to provide advice on the provision of the forces obligations in respect of lawful disclosure into the public domain in the case of FOI responses and to individuals under Information Rights

  • Maintaining and publishing FOI responses on the Force Disclosure Log and publications of significant interest on the force website and extract and present statistical data for FOI data disclosure

  • Acting as Decision Maker for all Disclosures released under FOI & DPA Information Rights

    Educated to GCSE level with good IT Literacy along with being fully conversant with Microsoft packages in particular Word for decision making responses, Excel for Data extraction and compilation along with Adobe for Redacting reports

  • Awareness of Data Protection and Freedom of Information legislation, and information security issues.

  • Experience of gathering and analysing information to produce responses and reports clearly and concisely into the public domain

  • Experience of managing multiple workloads at any one time to achieve strict deadlines, Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 5 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
