Trainee Buyer

We are seeking a driven and organised Trainee Buyer to join our growing team. As a Trainee Buyer, you are responsible for the procurement of materials and providing purchasing support to the wider business. This is an excellent opportunity to grow and develop within the Company and become a valued member of the purchasing team. Your day-to-day duties will include, but are not limited to:

· Purchasing of raw materials, finished goods, packaging and other materials

· Liaise with suppliers on a daily basis

· Negotiating purchase prices and contracts with suppliers

· Comply with a "just-in-time" stock strategy, ensuring an efficient stock level over all sites

· Creation of purchase orders

· Carry out general administrative responsibilities within the department

· Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers

· Create reports of suppliers, based on quality, timeliness and price

· Schedule of deliveries to ensure adequate stock levels, in line with purchasing strategy

· Deal with any purchase order/invoice issues

· Research alternative suppliers and competitor prices

· Support the Production Planner with the budgets and forecasts

· Any other ad hoc duties

· Good time management skills, as you may have multiple tasks and issues happening concurrently

· Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with suppliers, managers and colleagues

· Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills to identify issues and effectively deal with them

· Ability to build strong working relationships both internally and externally

· Excellent attention to detail

· Comfort in making key decisions and the ability to work in a high-pressure environment
