Full Job Description

Beaufort Support Services provides Supported Housing solutions across the South and South West. The Service delivers semi-independent support to young people, 24 hours/7 days a week in shared and independent accommodation.

As part of a team, the role of the Young Persons' Support Worker is to offer practical and emotional support, safeguard the young people, respond to challenging behaviours, and help them develop the skills needed to be independent.

Lone working will apply; however you will be part of a wider support team.

Aims

  • Ensure all young people are appropriately supported to promote their personal growth and independent living skills.

  • Work with the young people to develop individual pathway plans to identify their aspirations and goals and to ensure that each young person's specific and specialised needs are properly met.

  • Give practical support and ongoing emotional and psychological support to help them achieve their ambitions.

  • Work alongside other team members to ensure the house is a safe and pleasant place to live in and promote a cooperative shared living atmosphere in the house.

    Experience of work or volunteering with children and young people or vulnerable young adults.

  • Working with children, young people and their families who have experienced trauma.

  • Good understanding and experience of working within in 16 plus supported housing

  • Level 3 or 4 NVQ in Health & Social or Children & Young People Qualification/Equivalent or willing to work towards

  • Someone who has an ability to engage with young people in a positive and proactive approach, All successful candidates must be within commutable distance and must have the right to live and work in the UK. If this criteria is not met, your application will not be considered., Are you over 21 years of age?


  • Experience:
  • working with young people: 1 year (required)


  • Licence/Certification:
  • Driving Licence and access to a vehicle (preferred)

  • NVQ Level 3/4 in Children & Young People or Social Care (preferred)

    Salary Equivalent: £29,659 - full time

  • Hours: 42 hours per week - Full time. Will include weekend work based on a rolling rota.
